AS THE YEAR COMES TO AN END...

Postby adminfirst on Thu Dec 17, 2009 12:05 am

okay so right now i am a little worried about the sanity of people in general. i am not understanding the protests in Copenhagen. i just don't it, people are gathered to discuss and find a possible solution to the global warming (it is real not an urban myth, as you can see there has been no harmattan in Lagos yet!) and people are protesting against... :?
in Nigeria, our president is sick and we are praying for him (at least i am and fasting as well), but there is a sect of people in the north saying that the replacement has to be a northerner, power must remain in their hands :?
someone please explain any of this madness to me, i'm confused!

i was in ogun state a couple of weeks back (i'm from there), i had never been there my entire life. it was a great shock; u know how u hear all these excellent raves about a governor and what they have done, i have never been more disappointed my whole life. the capital abeokuta is a mess, no schools, no roads and he smells like a dump site. one thing that was consistent tho was the array of billboards erected by politicians of different walks including the governor and iyabo obj. it didn't bother me until i read about the ogun state workers threatening to go on strike unless they are paid, this has become a norm over the last couple of months in ogun, workers are always on strike because their salaries haven't been paid.my question is WHAT IS GBENGA DANIELS USING ALL THE STATE'S REVENUE FOR:?:

I am a northerner firstly so i find the admin's comment a bit irritating. i know it seems ridiculous that people are discussing the nation's governance in such terms but i believe they are trying to be realistic. I don't think Goodluck is up to the task of running a nation and northerners have always shown excellent leadership. I'll agree though that it is wrong to make the presidency seem like it can be chosen at discretion (like a class captain in school or something) but it has always been the Nigerian way, every tribe gets a turn at the presidency. Insha Allah, the president will not die.

i'm sorry radeyah if i seemed tribalist. but i still don't agree with the fact that tribes take turns at governance, it doesn't make any sense. this is the presidency afterall not a town's kingship  Even if we decide to go with that route then surely it is time for the ibos and allied tribes to rule, they have not had a turn to the best of my knowledge. so should in case the president die (i hope/PRAY not), then Goodluck Jonathan should be made president, no other person should be elected. Isn't that what the law stipulates in the first place? Nigeria is the only country in the world where it is convenient to shift the law around. hen a president dies, constitution demands that the VP step into his shoes! Should there be a question about his capability now? :x

the argument between radeyah and the admin is rather funny. i agree with the admin tho, the law is the law!it is rada unfortunate tho that that means absolutely nothing in Naija.Sad, i know. aniwaz so i read talkcity like i alwaz do. isnt dora an amazing woman?she does no work what so ever and she is insisting on taking money for a project she knows is never going to be completed.amazing stuff.and on the sony issue, it is time to drop it, she has milked that dead cow enough. she irks her duties and then corrects herself and expects an accolade for it.Seriously??? i saw the ad it was good.who cares about what they said about nigerians, i'm not a thief, what do i care?

As the year comes to an end, i would like everyone to reflect on this year, the good, the bad.Don't regret, just be thankful for everything. May the year 2010 bring nothing less than we deserve!
